Induction Iron - Tooling Board (model)
I made the Induction Iron with the thought of ‘whats to come?’ in mind. I performed a lot of existing iron research. And this is what I ended up with. It has a glass induction plate attached to the base. USB-C charging port. A chrome spinning dial to alter temperature for different fabrics, a dynamic form, and silicone / chrome handle. I envision the iron to have some sort of house or charging dock that it lives in when not in use. There is also bold text on the plate to indicate a hot surface.
After getting the general form and scale confirmed, I went into SolidWorks and developed some CAD models. I went back and forth with colleagues and refined the form substantially.
I spent some time in rendering programmes like keyshot, blender, and solidworks playing around with textures and colours.
